ARKRAY Ltd. is the first R&D and manufacturing facility in the Russian Federation operated by ARKRAY, Inc (herein ’ARKRAY’). A ceremony was held on the afternoon of 16 July local time to celebrate the first shipment from the new factory in Dubna, near Moscow which follows the start of operations on 27 June.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of government, local diabetes societies, medical organizations, business partners and news organizations were also represented. Total attendance was around 50.
The President and CEO of ARKRAY, Mr. Takeshi Matsuda expressed his gratitude to those attending and made the following statement during initial comments. ’ARKRAY has continued its in vitro diagnostic business including diabetes and urine testing fields in Russia for a number of years. The establishment of this new development and production facility will allow the development, manufacture and supply within the Russia. This will allow us to respond to the needs of the market quicker than we have in the past. We will start with meters and sensors for the self-monitoring of blood glucose, but will expand this business and develop products that can support the health of greater numbers of Russian customers.’
The Russian IVD (in vitro diagnostics) market is growing due to an ageing society and an increase in lifestyle associated diseases. In line with this, ARKRAY expect to see increased demand for medical devices including meters for the self-monitoring of blood glucose used by diabetic patients.
ARKRAY is working to build manufacturing facilities and strengthen customer services so as to quickly provide products that meet the needs of and trends in both the Russian and other markets.
